The iPhone X is Apple’s reimagining of the iPhone to celebrate the product’s 10-year anniversary. A lot has changed, so here’s a handy guide for everything you need to know about the iPhone X.

This is the iPhone X.

It’s smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus (left) but bigger than the iPhone 8 (right).

The screen is the perfect size though. It’s larger than the Plus screen, but crammed onto a body that’s only a little larger than the 8.

The screen is made using OLED technology, which has better color representation. It’s also sharper than older iPhone displays.

Apple calls it the Super Retina Display. It’s gorgeous.

There’s no home button. Instead, you swipe up from the bottom of the display to go to the home screen.

There’s a notch at the top of the screen, which houses the new TrueDepth camera system.

The TrueDepth camera lets you unlock the phone with Face ID facial recognition. It replaces Touch ID, the fingerprint sensor system from older iPhones.

TrueDepth also enables cool tricks like augmented reality. Snapchat built some new, realistic lenses for it.

TrueDepth can also track face gestures. Apple built a group of Animoji that record your movements and voice.

Most apps don’t look great on the new screen size and shape. It’ll be a few months before they change up their designs.

The rear cameras take excellent photos. They’re slightly better than the iPhone 8 Plus cameras.

But the camera is ginormous. It bulges from the back of the phone.

It has wireless charging, just like the iPhone 8.

There’s no headphone jack. You need to use Lightning headphones or Bluetooth headphones.

Now here’s the kicker: It costs $999.

So is it worth it?

The iPhone X is the best smartphone you can buy. $999 may sound like a lot, but the X is full of new features you won’t find in any other phone. It’s a sampling of what the future of smartphones will look like now.
